Green Tara (Chittamani Tara) is a female manifestation of enlightened energy; she is very popular in Tibetan Buddhism. There are 21 manifestations of Tara, and the most important two are White Tara and Green Tara. Characteristic of her appearance are the seven eyes in her head, palms of her hands and soles of her feet, and she is sitting in a complete lotus position. She is holding the stalk of a blue lotus in her right hand. The 21 verses of Green Tara are recited monthly in all Buddhist spiritual communities to solve obstacles.
