How to Recognize Agua de Florida

There are actually two types: the more expensive Florida Water with alcohol and a less potent cologne version. You can tell the difference by the label. The common, less costly version is called Florida Water and the Peruvian alcohol based potion is called Agua de Florida.

Most shamans prefer to use the Peruvian Agua de Florida Water because it supposedly has a higher vibration, but the Florida Water cologne variant is also popular. What is Florida Water made of? The Peruvian Florida Water alcohol percentage is as high as 75%. The mysterious and magical ‘water’ has a fresh citrus, orange, and lavender scent that come from the essential oils of a variety of herbs and flowers. Why the Name Florida Water?

Even though Murray & Lanman is based in New York, they named their mysterious fragrance Florida Water, after the American state Florida. The beautiful design on the label proves it. The label of this floral fragrance elixir shows a beautiful fountain, referring to the Fountain of Eternal Youth. In his search for this mythical place, the Spaniard Juan Ponce de Leon discovered what is now Florida in 1512. But why did he call it that? Because it bursts with flowers and La Florida means nothing more than ‘flowery place’. Agua de Florida is therefore a bouquet in a bottle. Florida Water Spiritual Uses and Rituals

The classic floral water is part of all kinds of shamanistic rituals from South America to the American South and now even in Europe.

Voodoo

Practitioners of Hoodoo magic and Voodoo religions such as Santeria and Winti often use Florida Water. These religions emerged as a mixing of African religions and Christianity among people brought to North America as Slaves.
