These traditional cobra stands are handmade in Jaipur, India.

The cobra stand provides perfect support for an abalone shell. The shell can become hot when smudging white sage or palo santo, for example, and then the use of a wooden stand like this is ideal to prevent the surface from also becoming hot. You can also use the stand to support glass balls or singing bowls, for example. The interwoven legs are carved from one piece of wood and give the stand a mysterious atmosphere.
