• Last Quarter: the other side of the moon is visible
• Waning Crescent Moon: the amount of the visible moon continues to shrink

Which side of the moon you see illuminated in these phases also depends on your location. For example, in the Northern Hemisphere, the moon is lit on the right during the first quarter, while in the Southern Hemisphere it is on the left!
