What are Chakras?

Chakra is Sanskrit for ‘wheel’ and means ‘wheel of energy’. It is believed that they are the energy centres in your body. Most traditions adhere to seven chakras, but there is also mention of eight or nine chakras. All the chakras together form a system, which means that they all affect each other and that they work together. Every chakra has its own specific qualities and functions. The chakras are different kinds of consciousness. 

Chakras are the different areas in your life. It is believed that the first chakra represents survival and the second creativity. Allegedly, the third is your feeling of self-worth and the fourth tells you something about love. It is believed that chakra five is your communication, the sixth provides you with insight and the seventh connects you to the holy. Chakras can be felt in your body and your behaviour tells a lot about them. In order to influence chakras, or to get to know them, special colours, symbols and gemstones are used.

The Tree of Life is a universal symbol that is used in many spiritual and mythological traditions around the world. In various cultures it is known as the Cosmic Tree, the World Tree, the Sacred Tree and the Tree of Life.

The Tree of Life symbolises wisdom, protection, power, abundance, beauty, and salvation. Of course, the Tree of Life is also a symbol for life itself. With its roots in the earth it has contact with the underworld. With its branches it reaches for heaven. He is a mediator between gods and men.

The three most important systems of the tree are the roots, the trunk and the branches; they are parallel to the human development of body, psyche and spirit. It is a powerful symbol of growth. Furthermore, the tree of life symbolises eternal life and immortality.
