Shungite comes from Russia, more specifically from the Republic of Karelia, and is believed to protect against radiation. It is said to be a healing stone with a unique composition. It is believed to absorb negative influences and electromagnetic radiation.

According to fans, Shungite is harmonising, anti-bacterial, purifying and protective.

Shungite has been used in medical treatments since the 18th century. Peter the Great stood at the cradle of the first Russian health resort in Karelia, where he made use of the water-purifying effect of Shungite, which he had personally experienced. He also promoted its use in the production of purified water for the Russian army.
