The family businesses are often located in outlying areas. By working together, they have a better chance of finding work. The aim is to create as many employment opportunities as possible for women. More than 80 percent are women, so they earn a stable income, which makes them more independent. By cooperating with local communities, they give them a chance to grow.

The Capiz Shell is a flat oyster-like shell, which is found in large quantities in the waters around the Indonesian islands. The shell is flat and fairly round. In Spanish colonial times, they were mainly used for windows in houses because of their translucent character. Now they are widely used in decorative products.
