The copper water bottles are handmade in India, which means that every bottle is unique and may differ somewhat from the picture. When using the bottle for the first time, we advise you to first rinse it a couple of times.
Copper drinking bottles (tamba) have been produced and used in India for over 200 years. According to the ancient Indian Ayurveda, drinking water from a copper bottle helps balance the three energies that circulate in the human body; they are called the Doshas (Vata- air element, Kapha- water element and Pitta- fire element). These bottles are only suitable for water. Not suitable for milk, citrus and sour liquids.
Please note: with time, copper will start to discolour due to oxidation. The material may also start to ‘stain’. These are natural properties of copper and have no negative effects on drinking from a copper bottle like this one. As a result of the natural properties of copper, the bottles may also display impurities.
We believe in fair trade, and so does our copper processor. A fair price is paid for these products.
