Sarana has been working with this female producer for over 15 years. About 30 people work for her. The majority are women, with this she tries to prevent discrimination. In this way they get the chance to earn a salary as well, which allows them to be more independent.

How is it made?

The desired box is first made of wood or brass. Then a nice print is chosen. This is printed out and then made to fit on the box. When the print is properly attached, it is finished with lacquer. This gives it a nice smooth and shiny finish.

Fairtrade

They want to give disadvantaged parts of the country a chance, where a fair wage is very important to them. In addition to social justice, they also find it important to contribute to ecological sustainability. Of course they adhere to the Fairtrade standards and they have the WFTO quality mark.
