The name Selenite comes from the Greek moon goddess Selene, because of the moon-like light from the little flame that shines through. Allegedly, Selenite has a conciliatory and connecting effect between loved ones. Selenite crystals are half-gemstone crystals with a unique vibration. They are often linked to the sixth chakra (the third eye) and the seventh chakra on the crown of the head. It is believed that especially the white and transparent crystals have a strong effect.
