The Koshi Chime Terra, named after the element earth, is a special sound instrument. The name refers to properties such as lightness, heaviness, hardness, roughness, and softness. The Koshi Chime Terra can be recognized by the green mark at the bottom of the side. The concept of the Koshi Chime gongs is inspired by the four elements: earth, water, air, and fire. These elements are seen as the fundamental building blocks of our existence. It is fascinating how these elements can produce sounds and vibrations, something that is clearly evident in the Koshi Chime Terra. The Koshi Chime is a very pure sound instrument that can be used in various ways. It can serve as a wind chime, hang above the door where the door strikes the clapper, or be held in the hand to be played. The sound box of the Koshi Chime is made of bamboo veneer, which is cross-glued for extra strength. The metal rods that determine the sounds are attached with silver solder to a metal ring at the bottom of the Chime. These rods are worked until they have the right tone. There are four different Koshi Chimes, each named after one of the four elements. Although each type has its own sound, for example, all Earth Chimes sound exactly the same. The Koshi Chime Terra has a size of 6.5x20x15 centimeters and a weight of 250 grams, making it a compact and handy instrument.
