This cheerful keychain is also called “nazar boncuğu”. A nazar is an amulet in the shape of an eye which, according to Turkish folk belief, is said to protect against the evil eye. The small versions are worn as ornaments and the large ones are hung on the wall in a highly visible manner (preferably opposite an entrance or a door), to serve as a clear deterrent to the “evil one.”
The key ring contains (synthetic) howlite beads.
You see the Hamsa or Hand of Fatima appearing more and more often as jewelry, tattoos and other decorations. Did you know that the little hand not only protects, but also makes a fist for peace?
A nice meaningful gift to give or receive!
The pendant is handmade and hand painted. Therefore, the pendant may vary slightly from the picture.
