These unique copper cups are handmade in India. The cup is decorated with an etched Flower of Life. Each cup is handmade and may vary slightly from the photo. We recommend rinsing the cup before the first use.

Cups made of copper (tamba) have been made and used in India for over 200 years. According to ancient Indian Ayurveda, drinking water from a copper cup helps to balance the three energies circulating through the human body, the Doshas (Vata- air element, Kapha- water element and Pitta fire element). These cups are suitable for water only. Not for milk, citrus and acidic liquids.

Copper discolors over time due to oxidation. Also, the material may show ‘stains’. These are both natural properties of copper and have no negative effects for drinking from a copper cup. This will mainly occur on the inside. The cups are made of pure copper (99.6%). The outer layer is lightly lacquered (0.4%). The inside is 100% copper. The cups may also have unevenness, which is part of the natural properties of copper. As far as discoloration goes, you can think of dark spots/ smudges on the inside. In addition, it can become greenish.

Cleaning and maintenance instructions

• Do not wash in the dishwasher
• Clean with natural soap, soft sponge and water at room temperature
• To make the copper shine use lemon segments or copper polish
• Do not expose to direct sunlight
