Balmwood – Palo Santo (Bursera engraving lens). Element fire – centre of gravity feeling. Has a warm-aromatic woody fragrance. Was known to the Aztecs as Copalcoahuitl. For the Peru Indians it is ‘Holy Wood’. Used for magic and religious rituals. Evil spirits abhor the scent and are driven out with it.
