Balmwood – Palo Santo (Bursera engraving lens). Element fire – centre of gravity feeling. Has a warm-aromatic woody fragrance. Was known to the Aztecs as Copalcoahuitl. For the Peru Indians it is ‘Holy Wood’. Used for magic and religious rituals. Evil spirits abhor the scent and are driven out with it. Purifies the air, creates peace and harmony, gives an optimal basic posture. Excellent incense in case of irritation and exertion. Suitable for burning on charcoal and the special sieve-smoke burners that are sold separately. The combustion process on these sieve burners is somewhat slower than on charcoal. You can easily mix the incense with other varieties if you take a larger sieve burner. Also available are a matching pair of pliers to safely light the charcoal, a pliers to tackle the sieve, a steel brush to clean the sieve and a pheasant feather to spread the scent. A separate sieve of 125 mm incense fits perfectly on an oil evaporator when the receptacle is removed.
