Mala with 108 wooden beads 3 ornamental beads. Located on an elastic band and can therefore easily be worn as a bracelet. The bead cord is mainly used to count mantras that are recited. So it actually has the same function as a rosary (Catholic Bribery Cable). Beads made of (semi-)precious stones, pearls, bodhi seeds or wood are suitable for many purposes, for counting all kinds of mantras or other prayers, bends, tours and the like. The cord is the same for all mala’s, and should consist of nine wires that symbolize the Buddha Vajradhara and the eight bodhisattva’s. The large bead at the end represents the wisdom that realizes the complete emptiness and the cylindrical bead above it is the emptiness itself. Together they symbolise that all opponents have been defeated.
