Hand-sculpted slate relief with the Green Tara. It is a Tibetan tradition to carve the mantra of Chenrezig into stones, but also pictures of Buddha, Tara, Zambhala, etc. Tibetans firmly believe that this creates positive energy and provides protection. The wind spreads its positive energy to all corners of the world. One can also hang this image on the wall. Green Tara (Chittamani Tara) is a female manifestation of enlightened energy; she is very popular in Tibetan Buddhism. There are 21 manifestations of Tara, and the most important two are White Tara and Green Tara. Characteristic of her appearance are the seven eyes in her head, palms of her hands and soles of her feet, and she sits in a complete lotus position. In her right hand she holds the stem of a blue lotus. The 21 verses of Green Tara are recited monthly in all Buddhist spiritual communities to solve obstacles. Reciting the mantra of Green Tara neutralizes inner outer and secret fears. The mantra is worded: Om Tare Tuttare Ture Svaham (pronounced: Soham).
