Artisan

This family business started in 2002 making ceramic tableware. Started with five employees, but over the years has been able to create employment for 30 people. More than 70 percent of the workforce is female. The men do the heavy work and the women do the finer work such as painting and polishing.

How is it made?

Molds are used. These are filled and have to dry. When fully cured, they can be painted. Finally, a glaze layer is applied and the product can be placed in the kiln. After the products have cooled down, quality control takes place. The products are ready to be packed and shipped.
