What’s in the Stars: Astrology and Astronomy

Astrology is the practice of divination with the stars and other celestial bodies. Spiritually speaking, according to astrology, stars and planets mysteriously affect our lives. The word astrology comes from the Greek words “astron” and “logos” meaning “a star” and “that which is said.” According to astrologers, we can read the fate of people from the stars. Also, most constellation names come from myths describing the creation of certain stars.

Astronomy is the science of studying space. An astronomer studies everything related to the universe, the stars, the galaxies, the planets, and the phases of the moon. Unlike Astronomy, Astrology is not a science, but the name for the practice of using relationships between the position of the planets and stars and life on earth to explain spiritual phenomena. For example, it reveals a person’s character through their Birth Chart or may even be helpful in predicting the future. For example, an astrologer can read your life course from the position of the stars.
