The usual raw materials for china clay, kaolin, feldspar and quartz are mixed with a minimum of 35% bone ash. This creates the strongest porcelain possible and gives it a specific ivory-coloured appearance. Due to its composition, bone china can be fired at a temperature of around 1250°C.
