The Triquetra (Celtic Tick) is a medieval symbol, the Latin name of which means ‘triangular’. The meaning is probably related to the Celtic holy trinity: Life, Death and Rebirth. Some religions regard 3 as a holy number. A symbol with three interlocking circles, found on 5000 years old Indian religious statues, but of the triquetra symbol itself, the earliest traces of the 8th century were found in northern Europe.
