The Koshi Chime Aria, or air, is an exceptionally pure sound instrument. This special gong owes its name to the element air, which symbolizes movement, repulsion, and support. The yellow mark at the bottom of the side of the gong is characteristic of the Koshi Chime Aria. The Koshi Chime gongs are a series of sound instruments inspired by the four elements: earth, water, air, and fire. These elements are considered the foundation of our existence. Each element produces its own unique sound, from the crackling of fire to the gentle rustling of the wind. The Koshi Chime Aria, also called air, is a versatile instrument. You can use it as a wind chime, hang it above the door so that the door hits the clapper, or hold it in your hand and play it that way. The resonance box of the Koshi Chime is made of bamboo veneer. This veneer is cross-glued to provide extra strength. The metal rods in the Chime, which determine the sounds, are attached with silver solder to a metal ring at the bottom of the Chime. The rods are carefully worked until they produce the correct tone. There are four different Koshi Chimes, each named after one of the four elements: earth, water, air, and fire. Each variant has its own distinctive sound, but all Koshi Chimes of the same element sound exactly the same. The Koshi Chime Aria has dimensions of 6.5x20x15 centimeters and weighs 250 grams.
